What is an All In One Cloth Nappy and How do I use them?

What is an All in One Nappy?
All cloth nappies are made up of two components. An absorbent part and a waterproof or water resistant part. In the case of an All In One they are permanently attached or sewn together.

What is an All in One Nappy?

You put them on as one piece, wash them as one piece and dry them as one piece. Some have absorbent parts that are removeable by snaps but even when removed there is still a complete nappy system remaining.

In some All In One nappies, like this one, the absorbent part is visible and lays on top, in others it sits inside under a lining. In most, they fold out to increase the drying speed. You will find this style in both hook and loop and snap closure and in all sizes.

What are the advantages to an All in One?

These nappies are the most simple and easiest to use type of cloth nappy, they are a popular choice for a first time using a cloth nappy. They are popular with child care providers as they easy to put on and change. They are great to take out in the changing bags and simple to put away after they have been washed.

Are there any Disadvantages?

If you’re trying out an all-in-one you may notice a decrease in the containment of the nappy compared to other resuable nappies. As they are attached they may have longer drying times which is something to consider depending on how many you have in your stash. Other disadvantages are the precision and care needed when fitting and possibly less scope for customisation and boosting.

Have you tried any of this style nappy? What do you think of them? We are big fans here at Yes Bebe, they are a great easy to try nappy, a great place to start on your nappy journey.
