A waterproof wrap for use as part of a Two Part system, over an absorbent nappy or inserts. This wrap is designed to fit babies 6-18lbs, is size adjustable using the rise snaps on the front of the wrap and has hook and loop fastening.
Whether you are using a Peenut wrap over Day to Night Inserts, a Bamboozle Stretch or any other absorbent insert or nappy they make for a cost effective option as you can reuse multiple times before washing.
Follow the wash care instructions on the label.
Wash your cloth nappies a few times prior to use to increase their absorbency. To get them to full absorbency you will need to wash them 10 times, but if you can’t wait, you can use them after a couple of washes.
Fold back the hook and loop laundry tabs as they will damage your nappies in the wash otherwise. Unfolded laundry tabs are a major cause of fabric balding so please, please use them.
Use a one-way liner. This will protect your babies bottom by keeping it dry and it will protect your nappy.
Use a laundry mesh. It makes getting all those dirty nappies into the washing machine a doddle AND it saves you from having to touch them. Always a bonus with those extra poopy nappies!
Use non-biological powder as it is better for baby's skin. There is also an enzyme present in some bio detergents which is corrosive to bamboo fibre and cotton.
Line dry whenever you can. Not only will sunlight bleach stains out of your nappies but the UV radiation will kill bacteria too. You can tumble dry the nappies on a cool setting if needed but buy some pegs and save your pennies!
Don’t use fabric softeners or liquid detergent as these leave a residue which coats the fabric fibres, decreases the absorbency of the towelling and effects the waterproofing.
Don’t soak your nappies in harsh stain removers. If you do have a pile of very stinky nappies and want to soak, do not soak for longer than 12hrs and use either water or a mild solution of our own powder, Potion as it has been specially formulated for use with nappies.
Don’t use bleach or other harsh stain removers. They will shorten the lifespan of your nappies and will void your guarantee.
Don’t use pastes of wash powder and apply direct to stains, this is too concentrated.
Don’t boil wash or use the 'baby' wash cycle as this is a boil wash and at 90 degrees is unsuitable for your nappies. If you are worried about bacteria, leave your nappies in bright sunlight, even in winter-time.
Barrier creams, such as Sudocrem, and other oil based products can coat the fibres of the nappy and reduce absorbency. When using a barrier cream you must always use a liner.
Don't dry nappies directly on radiators or similar, this can damage the PUL and elastic affecting the functionality of your nappies.
